Literacy with ICT is the foundation for all technology use in schools k-12!!
Literacy with ICT means choosing and using ICT, responsibly and ethically, to support critical and creative thinking about information and about communication as citizens of the global community. Literacy with ICT consists of critical and creative thinking, ethics and responsibility, and ICT literacy.
There are three components in assessing student literacy with
ICT: observations, portfolios, and conversations
Reporting on literacy with ICT consists of informing parents about their child’s competency in three areas:
• demonstrating critical thinking with ICT to plan and gather information
• demonstrating creative thinking with ICT to produce and communicate information
• demonstrating responsibility and ethics with ICT
